BGN Admits to Still Having IDR 1.6 Trillion in Debt
The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) revealed that it still has payment obligations to several third parties totaling Rp 1.609 trillion. These arrears stem from the 2025 budget implementation and are still being resolved.
The Acting Head of BGN, Agustina Arumsari, apologized to all partners who have not yet received their dues. She explained that the delay in payments was due to the ongoing administrative and budget verification process.
“We apologize to all third parties whose bills we have not been able to fully pay because they are still being finalized,” Agustina said in a hearing with Commission IX of the House of Representatives (DPR).
Agustina explained that these obligations are listed in the Audited Financial Report for Fiscal Year 2025 and represent the accumulation of various expenditures incurred during the previous leadership period.
Of the total arrears, the largest portion comes from capital expenditures for assets, including the construction of kitchens for the Free Nutritional Meal Program (MBG), amounting to approximately Rp 1.04 trillion. In addition, there are outstanding payments for event organizer and publication services amounting to Rp330.44 billion, SPPG certification amounting to Rp111.63 billion, and government assistance for the MBG Program amounting to Rp100.64 billion.
BGN also has outstanding payments for procurement of materials and equipment, consulting services, vehicle rentals, speaker fees, official travel, and payments to the Defense University.
To settle all these obligations, BGN is currently submitting a budget revision to the Directorate General of Budget (DJA) at the Ministry of Finance so that payments can be made through the Budget Implementation List (DIPA).
Before funds are disbursed, each invoice will undergo an audit process by the Budget User Authority (KPA), the Internal Inspectorate, and the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) to ensure all payments comply with applicable regulations.
BGN aims to settle all outstanding payments to third parties in stages throughout 2026.
“Payments will be made in stages for invoices that have passed the review and verification process in accordance with regulations,” Agustina emphasized.
