Viral Video of Chinese Tourist Nearly Falling from Mount Bromo Slope
A video showing a Chinese tourist nearly falling down a steep slope in the Mount Bromo area, East Java, has gone viral on social media. The incident allegedly occurred while the victim was taking photos while enjoying the panoramic sunrise.
The video was uploaded by the Threads account @wawan.keiko and immediately caught the attention of netizens.
“The moment a Chinese tourist slipped and nearly fell down a 350-meter slope while trying to take a photo at Bromo,” the account wrote in its post, as quoted on Monday (July 13, 2026).
In the circulating footage, the tourist appears to lose his balance and slips on the edge of the slope. Fortunately, he avoided falling into the ravine and survived the incident.
The post sparked a variety of comments from netizens. Some reminded them of the importance of adhering to safety rules when traveling in mountainous areas, while others questioned the supervision of the tour guides.
“Many foreigners are rude. It’s better to be polite to your own people. Indonesians understand when you want to take photos or videos,” wrote one netizen.
Other netizens highlighted the tourist’s expression after the incident.
