Malaysian Influencers in the Spotlight
Malaysian influencer Aisar Khaled became a social media sensation after a passenger claimed to have had an uncomfortable experience while on the same flight as him. The complaint went viral after being shared on the platform Threads.
In her post, the passenger, with the handle @deardilah, claimed to have sat directly in front of Aisar Khaled during the flight. She complained that her seat back was pushed back several times because the feet of the passenger behind her kept hitting her seat.
According to her, the incident had been going on since the plane took off. She admitted to having reprimanded him directly, but the situation reportedly recurred until the end of the flight.
“His feet were kicking against my seat (probably because his legs were tall), but I already know you’re at least business class,” she wrote in the post, which was then widely reshared.
The passenger admitted to taking a photo of the person sitting behind her as the plane landed. She identified the person as Aisar Khaled.
The post also included two photos. The first photo shows the feet of a passenger from the back seat seemingly extending towards the seat in front of her. Meanwhile, another photo shows a man identified as Aisar Khaled wearing a gray hoodie.
The post quickly sparked a variety of reactions from netizens. Many viewed the issue as related to airline etiquette, not simply his height.
A number of netizens argued that every passenger has an equal right to enjoy a comfortable journey. They also argued that being a public figure shouldn’t diminish their awareness of respecting other passengers’ personal space.
“Back to attitude, I also get annoyed when someone suddenly stretches their legs out near our seats. Regardless of whether they’re an influencer or a celebrity, they both pay,” wrote one netizen.
Similar comments also emerged. Some called the behavior impolite and potentially disruptive to flight comfort, especially on long flights.
As of this writing, Aisar Khaled has not yet responded or provided any clarification regarding the viral post.
