Olivia Rodrigo Campaign
Singer Olivia Rodrigo is using her upcoming music festival to encourage Americans to actively participate in the 2026 midterm elections. In collaboration with the nonprofit organization HeadCount, she is encouraging her fans to ensure they are registered to vote.
The program offers a chance to win VIP tickets, along with accommodations and travel expenses, to the Daisy Chain Fields festival. To enter, participants are asked to check their voter registration status, register, or access information related to the voting process through HeadCount’s platform.
Rodrigo’s move is seen as a continuation of her previously outspoken political stance. She recently criticized President Donald Trump’s administration after the song “All-American Bitch” was used in campaign materials for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) urging undocumented immigrants to voluntarily leave the United States.
Rodrigo publicly rejected the use of her song in the campaign, stating that the music she creates should not be used to spread messages she deems hateful toward immigrants.
In interviews with several media outlets, including Dazed and British Vogue, the Filipino singer expressed disappointment that her work was being used for purposes that conflict with the values she champions. He even called the government’s use of his song a form of misuse of artistic creation.
The Daisy Chain Fields Festival itself is scheduled to take place on August 29th in Irvine, California. The event features all-female performers, including Chappell Roan, Doechii, Mitski, Santigold, Sarah McLachlan, Bikini Kill, The Breeders, and Stevie Nicks.
In addition to musical performances, the festival will also feature several social organizations providing education on reproductive rights, women’s health, economic empowerment, and domestic violence prevention. All net profits from the event will be donated to support programs for women and girls.
Through this initiative, Rodrigo emphasizes that music festivals are not only a place for entertainment, but can also be used to raise public awareness about the importance of democratic participation and various social issues in the United States.
