President Prabowo Claims Indonesian Economy is Stable
President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that Indonesia’s current economic and political conditions remain stable and solid. He stated that various indicators show the national economy remains strong, despite being rocked by demonstrations that turned into riots.
“Yesterday, there were demonstrations that eventually turned into riots, but it turns out our economy is still stable,” Prabowo said in a meeting with media leaders in Hambalang last weekend.
Prabowo stated that national revival will be achieved more quickly if all political elites prioritize the interests of the people over group interests.
“If all Indonesian elites have a sense of national and state consciousness and put the interests of the people above group interests, I am sure this nation will recover more quickly,” he asserted.
Many Jobs Created
Prabowo emphasized that the government he leads has created many jobs. He is also optimistic that the potential for future employment will increase.
“We understand that there are still difficulties finding work in certain places and groups. But the government has proven to be able to create sufficient jobs, and the potential for future employment is enormous,” he explained.
Furthermore, the government has allocated a social protection budget for vulnerable communities. “We have prepared a social safety net for those most vulnerable, a significant amount,” Prabowo added.
Government Priority Programs
The President also highlighted the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program, which has now reached more than 25 million beneficiaries. The target is for the program to reach 82 million people by the end of the year or early 2026.
“All the programs I designed are showing results. We hope that, according to plan, the number of beneficiaries will reach 82 million by December,” he said.
In addition to the MBG, Prabowo also emphasized that the government continues to focus on the Village Cooperative, Red and White Fishing Village, and People’s School programs. These programs are aimed at strengthening the economy of the lower classes.
Saving State Assets
Prabowo emphasized that the government will launch operations to save state assets from illegal practices, including in the plantation and mining sectors.
“We have launched operations to save state assets from illegal activities. We will be able to save a significant amount of assets,” Prabowo said.
During the meeting at his Hambalang residence, Prabowo also listened to presentations from several ministers regarding the progress of priority programs. He was optimistic that all programs were proceeding according to plan and would have a real impact on the people.
