Ahead of the 2026 World Cup final, a group of shamans in Peru performed a traditional ritual in hopes of Argentina’s national team winning the championship. The ceremony took place outside Lima’s National Stadium on Friday (July 17th) and attracted the attention of local residents.

In the ritual, the shamans used various traditional Peruvian paraphernalia, such as coca leaves, a black guinea pig, dolls dressed in soccer uniforms, and offerings. They believed the process would send positive energy to the La Albiceleste squad before their appearance in the final.

One of the shamans, Feliz Roldan, claimed to have received spiritual guidance that prompted him to support Argentina. He even claimed to have received a message from the late football legend Diego Maradona.

“I received guidance from Diego Maradona’s spirit to send all the positive energy to the Argentine players so they can bring home the World Cup trophy,” said Feliz Roldan.

The ritual was performed as a form of prayer and symbolic support for the Argentine team, which will face Spain in the final.

The 2026 World Cup final is scheduled for Monday (July 20th) Indonesian time. The match will bring together two world football powers who are both aiming for the championship title in the deciding match.
