Brooklyn Beckham Opens Up About Family Feud

Rumors of a rift in the Beckham family have finally been confirmed directly by Brooklyn Beckham. The eldest son of David Beckham and Victoria Beckham has openly admitted to a feud with his parents and has stated that he has no desire to reconcile.

Brooklyn made this statement via a social media post on Monday (January 19). In his confession, the 26-year-old said his relationship with his father and mother is in a bad state and has been going on for a long time.

“I don’t want to reconcile with my family,” Brooklyn wrote. He admitted that for years he felt his life was being controlled and only now has the courage to speak up for himself.

Brookham accused David and Victoria Beckham of frequently controlling the public narrative to maintain the family’s image. He argued that the harmonious image portrayed through social media and various family events does not reflect the true situation.

He even claimed to have witnessed how incomplete information was conveyed to the media to maintain reputations, with the consequence of harming innocent parties.

The conflict, Brooklyn continued, has also affected his relationship with Nicola Peltz. He accused his parents of long-standing attempts to damage their relationship, even during the planning stages of their 2022 wedding.

One incident highlighted was Victoria Beckham’s last-minute cancellation of Nicola’s wedding dress. Nicola had reportedly been hoping to wear her mother-in-law’s design. As a result, Nicola had to quickly find a replacement dress.

Brooklyn also revealed that he had been asked to give up the rights to the Beckham name before the wedding. He claimed the request was related to inheritance issues and arose because Nicola was not considered part of the family. His refusal reportedly led to a change in his parents’ attitude toward him.

In a follow-up confession, Brooklyn recounted several moments he considered painful during his wedding, including when Victoria Beckham allegedly danced with him in front of hundreds of guests. He believed the moment was supposed to be a private dance between him and Nicola, which made him feel uncomfortable and humiliated.

Brooklyn also criticized his family’s culture, which he considered overly focused on public image. He said love in the Beckham family seemed to be measured by how often they appeared together on social media.

However, he admitted that he and Nicola had repeatedly tried to maintain harmony by attending various family events. However, these efforts were reportedly unreciprocated, including when Victoria Beckham rejected Nicola’s simple request to support a rescue of abandoned dogs during the Los Angeles wildfires.

At the end of his statement, Brooklyn revealed the impact of family conflict on his mental health. He admitted to growing up with severe anxiety due to family pressure, but felt calmer after choosing to distance himself.

“My wife and I just want peace, privacy, and happiness for our little family going forward,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, entertainment outlet Page Six reported that it had contacted representatives for David and Victoria Beckham regarding Brooklyn’s statement. However, there has been no official response from either party.

The issue of conflict within the Beckham family has been surfacing for the past few years and has intensified since Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz’s wedding. One of the most publicized moments was the couple’s absence from David Beckham’s 50th birthday party in May 2025. Brooklyn claimed he didn’t attend because his wife wasn’t allowed to attend, which he described as a painful experience.
