Awesome! A shooter from Bekasi Regency won third place at the 2025 Handgun World Shoot in South Africa
Sonny Prabowo, a shooter from Bekasi Regency, won third place at the 2025 Handgun World Shoot, organized by the International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) in Matlosana, South Africa.
In this victory, Sony competed in the Family Open Overall – Teams category with Omar Ali Sultan. Sony earned 2,204.8810 points and Omar 1,973.1012, bringing the team’s total to 4,282.5823 points.
“Thank God, I finished third at the 2025 World Shoot in South Africa,” said Sonny in a written statement after arriving in Indonesia on September 30, 2025.
With this third-place finish, the Head of the Bekasi Regency Association of Indonesian Shooting Associations (Perbakin), Dr. Dendy Danusena, expressed his gratitude that the Bekasi Regency athletes were able to compete and reach the podium.
He also expressed his gratitude, saying this is a historic achievement that will boost the spirit and bring honor to Indonesia in general and Bekasi Regency in particular.
“First, I’d like to congratulate Sony Prabowo. This is not only a historic achievement, but also an addition to the impressive record of Bekasi Regency shooters,” he said.
“Thank you so much for bringing honor to Indonesia and Bekasi Regency. Hopefully, this will also motivate fellow Bekasi Regency athletes ahead of the 2026 Porprov,” he concluded.
