The price of chicken meat has continued to soar in the last few days
Chicken prices have continued to soar in recent days. On Monday (September 15, 2025), chicken at the Cikurubuk Main Market was priced at Rp 42,000 to Rp 43,000 per kilogram.
“It’s a headache, chicken is expensive. I used to buy it for Rp 36,000 or Rp 38,000, now it’s Rp 43,000. It’s really skyrocketed,” said Lusi Nurasyiah, a resident of Indihiang District, Tasikmalaya City.
Furthermore, Zeni Amar, a resident of Sariwangi District, Tasikmalaya Regency, also admitted to being shocked by the price increase.
“Chicken breast is now Rp 52,000 per kilogram, usually no more than Rp 45,000,” Zeni said.
“The Rp 52,000 price is for chicken breast fillets,” she added.
Furthermore, the owner of a food stall on Jalan Tarumanagara, Tasikmalaya City, is also getting around the price increase by cutting his fried chicken into smaller pieces.
“I got it for Rp 42,000, probably because I’m a regular customer. It’s a hassle for vendors; I’m afraid customers will complain if I raise the price. Maybe the discount is a little smaller than usual,” he concluded.
