Deputy Chairman of Commission II of the House of Representatives (DPR), Dede Yusuf, responded to the General Elections Commission’s (KPU) decision not to disclose presidential and vice-presidential candidate data without approval, including diplomas.

He compared it to job applicants having to submit a complete CV when applying for a job.

“So, every prospective public official, whether a member of the House of Representatives (DPR), a minister, or the president, I think that’s data that should be visible to everyone. Even people apply for jobs with CVs, let alone applying for leadership,” Dede said at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday, September 15, 2025.

He stated that public official data should be transparent. However, he could not comment further and would question the KPU commissioners about the decision.

“I can’t answer that yet, but we’ll ask the KPU,” he said.

“The data that cannot be disclosed is health data, and there’s a law for that. Medical records cannot be disclosed, including health data. Other data, such as bank accounts, diplomas, and resumes, is fine, I think,” he concluded.
