Eko Patrio admitted that he was currently renting a place on the outskirts of Jakarta. His house was then looted by a mob on August 30th.

Eko Patrio made his first public appearance since his house was looted. He went to the Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya) to meet the person who took his cat during the looting.

Eko stated that several people had returned looted items from his house in the Kuningan area of South Jakarta.

“There were people who returned the items, but they were outside of this area. At the time of the incident, either that day or the next morning, they returned them, and before I was arrested by the police, I said, ‘Okay,’ and they returned them. I said, ‘Okay, take the items with you, it’s okay. You can go home, it’s okay,'” Eko said when met at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya) in South Jakarta on Friday (September 12, 2025).

“Yes, for now, I’m still renting somewhere on the outskirts of Jakarta. Yeah… yeah… that’s it. I haven’t thought about a house yet, but hopefully, when I get some money, I’ll fix it up,” he added.

The comedian and politician admitted his disappointment because the house was the result of years of hard work, even before he became a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives.

“Honestly, this is the result of decades of hard work, putting my head into my feet, and my feet into my head, to provide the best for my family. This house was built with my hard work. The career I’ve achieved so far was lost in an instant that night. Yes, it’s sad, it’s sad, but I’ll just take the lesson from it,” he added.

“I haven’t calculated the losses yet, but everything is gone, gone, yes, nothing is left, not even clothes, pants, everyone has children and so on, nothing is left, everything is gone. Gone and destroyed, not there. Yes, if you ask people who have collected a penny, two pence, three pence for the house they built, and then suddenly it’s gone, there must be a feeling of disappointment and that’s it,” he concluded.
