Massive demonstrations rock France
Massive demonstrations rocked the French capital, Paris, on Saturday. Protesters demanded the resignation of President Emmanuel Macron and called for the country to leave the European Union.
Public confidence in Macron has fallen to its lowest level since he took office in 2017.
Around 80% of French people say they distrust Macron, according to a poll conducted for Le Figaro and published last Wednesday.
Confidence in Prime Minister François Bayrou, the fifth person to take office in less than two years, has also plummeted to a record low.
The demonstrations were organized by former National Rally politician Florian Philippot and his Eurosceptic party, The Patriots, which opposes arms shipments to Ukraine.
Meanwhile, strikes are planned at French airports on September 10, as reported by National World, Sunday (September 7, 2025).
