Pee Wee Gaskins: Piknik 72
Pee Wee Gaskins started a new chapter in their music career after joining the WeCord Evermore label. Not wanting to linger, the band consisting of Alditsa “Dochi” Sadega (bass/guitar/vocals), Muhammad Fauzan “Sansan” Santoso (guitar/vocals), Harry “Ayi” Pramahardhika (guitar/bass/backing vocals), Reza “Omo” Satirisynth/keys/sample/guitar/vocals), and Renaldy “Aldy” Prasetya (drums) immediately “stepped on the gas” by releasing the continuation of their previous mini album (EP), Salute to 90’s. Now with the title Salute from Pee Wee Gaskins: Putar Waktu Kembali, they cover five songs that were popular at the time, namely “Piknik 72” (Naif), released August 29; “Terbang” (Gigi), released September 5; “Aku Ingin (/Rif), released September 12; “Bermimpi” (Base jam), released September 19; and “Konservatif” (The Adams), released September 26.
“Actually, this is a continuation of our 2018 EP, Salute to the 90s. However, this time, we didn’t limit it to a specific year and went broader. So, conceptually, this is a tribute to the bands we idolized and listened to back in the day. There are five songs in total, with the song selection process carried out by the five of us and discussions by the WeCord Evermore team,” explained Ayi.
