Indonesia Bans Children from Playing Roblox
Minister of Elementary and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen) Abdul Mu’ti warned children against playing Roblox. He made this statement while visiting Cideng 02 Elementary School in Central Jakarta on Monday (August 4, 2025).
“Just now, it was Blox, that Blox, don’t play that one because it’s not good,” said Abdul Mu’ti.
He believes that elementary school-aged children are not yet mature enough to differentiate between the real world and the fictional world.
“With their immature abilities, they sometimes imitate what they see. Therefore, sometimes the violent practices in various games trigger violence in children’s daily lives,” said Mu’ti.
“For example, I’m sorry, but if someone is thrown in the game, it’s okay to throw someone in the game. If they’re playing with their friends and then their friends are thrown, that’s a problem,” he added.
To prevent this, he emphasized the importance of providing guidance to children when accessing the internet and choosing games.
