DPR has asked law enforcement officials to investigate Budi Arie online gambling case
House of Representatives (DPR) Commission III member Benny Kabur Harman continues to push for an investigation into the online gambling case involving former Cooperatives Minister Budi Arie Setiadi.
The House member stated that gambling is one of the issues President Prabowo Subianto wants to eradicate.
“Therefore, anyone involved in gambling must be brought to justice. Whoever they are,” Benny said at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday (September 11).
“If there’s evidence. If not, then don’t,” he added.
Recently, Budi Arie’s alleged involvement in the online gambling scandal has been resurfaced.
Budi’s name was mentioned in the indictment for allegedly protecting online gambling sites from being blocked.
Last May, the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), Febrie Adriansyah, stated that his office would closely examine Budi Arie’s alleged involvement in the alleged online gambling site protection case.
“We’ll look into it going forward,” said Febrie after attending a meeting with Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) at the parliamentary complex in Jakarta on May 20.
“That’s an old song, a broken cassette, that’s being quoted,” Budi Arie emphasized at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK)’s Red and White Building in South Jakarta on May 21.
