Bima Permana Putra Found by Police in Malang
The Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya) has successfully located one of three people previously reported missing following the riots in Jakarta in late August 2025. The victim, Bima Permana Putra (29), was found safe in Malang, East Java.
The Head of Public Relations for the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Brigadier General Ade Ary Syam Indradi, stated that Bima was found on Wednesday (September 17, 2025) at 1:55 PM WIB in the Eng An Kiong Temple area, Jalan RE Martadinata No. 1, Kotalama, Kedungkandang District, Malang.
“A joint team from the Mobile Brigade Sub-Directorate, led by the Head of the Mobile Brigade Sub-Directorate, AKBP Resa Fiardi Marasabessy, followed up on the suspicion that three people were missing during the riots in Jakarta. Based on the investigation, the team successfully apprehended one of the individuals, identified as BPP,” Ade Ary said in a statement.
Chronology of Bima’s Whereabouts
From the investigation, it was discovered that Bima worked as a maintenance staff member at the PT RAS fish storage warehouse in Penjaringan, North Jakarta. He was last in Jakarta on August 29–31, 2025.
On September 1, Bima traveled to Tegal, Central Java, riding his Honda Aerox motorcycle. Upon arrival, he checked into the Red Doors Hotel and sold his motorcycle for Rp 5 million via cash on delivery (COD).
The next day, Bima ordered an online motorcycle taxi to Tegal Station and continued his journey to Malang by train. He stayed at the Java Boutique Hotel on September 3–5 before moving to the Eng An Kiong Temple.
In Malang, Bima sold small lion dance figures he purchased from TikTok Shop. He did this in front of the temple from September 5 to 16. When he wasn’t selling, he rested near the Mergosono gas station.
“While in Malang, BPP was selling small lion dance figures near the Eng An Kiong Temple,” explained Ade Ary.
Three People Reported Missing
Previously, KontraS reported that three people were missing following the riots in Jakarta at the end of August. They are:
Bima Permana Putra, last seen in Glodok, West Jakarta, reported missing on August 31, 2025.
Reno Syahputeradewo, last seen at Brimob Kwitang, Central Jakarta, reported missing on August 30, 2025.
M. Farhan Hamid, also last seen at Brimob Kwitang, Central Jakarta, reported missing on August 30, 2025.
One of the three, Bima, has now been found. The other two are still being searched for.
