The Pandeglang Regent’s Office is Equipped with a Sturdy Iron Door

The Pandeglang Regent’s Office now has a new look with the installation of a large iron door, described as resembling a fortress gate.

This measure was taken in response to a series of demonstrations that frequently occurred at the location.

The iron door replaces the transparent glass door that previously served as the main access point.

Over two meters tall and approximately 4 centimeters thick, the jet-black double-leaf door contrasts sharply with the large marble pillars supporting the building.

From the outside, the door looks sturdy and securely closes almost all access to the office lobby.

Doni Hermawan, Regional Assistant (Asda) I for Government and Public Welfare for the Pandeglang Regency Government, confirmed the installation of the iron door as an additional security measure.

“Yes, this is to anticipate unwanted incidents, such as theft or other incidents. So we installed a double door in front of the Regional Secretariat to ensure greater security,” said Doni in Pandeglang on Friday (September 12, 2025).

According to Doni, the decision to install the iron gate was also influenced by the increasing number of demonstrations at the Pandeglang Regent’s Office.

However, he emphasized that the policy was not intended to blame any party.

“The point is, we’re not blaming anyone, but we want to secure the assets inside. This is a government facility that we must protect,” he explained.

Doni added that the iron gate is not completely burglar-proof, but it is expected to provide better protection than the previous glass gate.

“If you force it open, it’s still possible. But at least, if something untoward happens, like theft, it will be more difficult. At least there’s a barrier first,” he said.

The iron gate has been installed for a week, and currently only one location has been installed.

Going forward, the Pandeglang Regency Government plans to add two more security points.

“It’s just one location, with plans for two more,” Doni said.

Previously, the Pandeglang Regent’s Office was frequently the site of public and student demonstrations against a waste management agreement between the Pandeglang Regency Government and the South Tangerang City Government. However, the agreement has now been canceled.
