Nadiem Makarim Named a Corruption Suspect
The Attorney General’s Office (AGO) has named former Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, Nadiem Makarim, a suspect in the laptop procurement corruption case.
“We have named a new suspect with the initials NAM,” said Anang Supriatna, Head of the AGO’s Legal Information Center, during a press conference at the AGO building in South Jakarta on Thursday (September 4, 2025).
Meanwhile, Nurcahyo Jungkung Madyo, Director of Investigation (Dirdik) at the AGO’s Special Crimes Unit (Jampidsus), stated that Nadiem was named a suspect after investigators found evidence.
In addition, investigators have also questioned various witnesses, including expert witnesses.
“Based on the examination and evidence, expert witness statements, instructions, letters, and evidence received or obtained by the investigative team at Jampidsus, today we have named one suspect with the initials NAM, who served as Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology for the 2019-2024 period,” he concluded.
